In line with the methodological proposal of Development Education / Global Citizenship Education, the mapping process of local initiatives for change has from the outset been a collaborative, critical process of dialogue. Here, we share this process with you:

Step 1

Building a vision for social transformation

Starting with the partnership's organizations, the process of reflection began by discussing what social transformation is and what its principles and values are. Throughout this process of reflection, which has continued until the present and is intended to be dynamic and constantly changing, Key criteria and Reference criteria have been defined to identify processes of social transformation.

Step 2

Compiling and carrying out the questionnaire

Starting from the vision of Social Transformation discussed and the various criteria defined, an online questionnaire was duly prepared and the process of passing it on through various networks and partners was begun.

Step 3

Receiving responses to the questionnaire

The questionnaire was available online for three weeks and 88 responses were collected.

Analysis and evaluation of responses received

The analysis of the responses received was then carried out. This was done collaboratively by members of the partnership and also through dialogue with initiatives, especially in cases where there was a need for additional information.

Step 4

Step 5

Selection of four initiatives to carry out fieldwork

Following the analysis, 4 initiatives were chosen to start the fieldwork. A fieldwork team was created to accompany the 4 initiatives. This involved periods of reflection with the initiatives to aid a deeper understanding of the vision of Social Transformation that underpins the whole project.

Selection of the initiatives for mapping

After analysis and dialogue with the initiatives had been done, we came to a decision on the number of initiatives to be mapped. These are displayed on the site Map of Initiatives.

Step 6

Step 7

Keeping the questionnaire open after launching the site

Given the collaborative, dynamic two-way process used to do the mapping, the questionnaire will remain open after the site has been launched to collect new answers. Any initiative that would like to participate in this mapping process can do so from the following link by answering the questionnaire.
